There’s this idea that if you’re trying to be healthy, chocolate is the enemy. That enjoying something sweet means you’ve somehow failed. I’m tired of that narrative – and honestly, these Ombar bars are my evidence against it.
I picked up a few flavours to try: the Pistachio Centres, Coconut & Vanilla Centres, Coco M’lk, and the 72% Cacao. All vegan, all organic, all made with raw cacao. And I genuinely loved them.
The Coconut & Vanilla was my favourite – the filling is soft and creamy and it doesn’t taste like a “healthy” chocolate. It just tastes like chocolate. Good chocolate.
The Line-Up:

Pistachio Centres: The dark chocolate shell has that deep hit but the pistachio centre completly balances it out. It’s nutty, creamy and honestly really delicious.

Coconut & Vanilla Centres: This one was my favourite. The coconut centre is soft and creamy, and the vanilla just lifts the whole thing without being overpowering. This choclate was really well balanced.

Coco M’lk: This one suprised me! It’s dairy free but you genuinely wouldn’t know. The coconut blends in so smoothly it justs tastes like really good milk choclate.

72% Cacao: Don’t let the cacao-rich put you off. This one isn’t bitter at all. It’s smooth and mellow, which actually makes me think it would be perfect for baking.
A quick word on the chocolate world right now
If you’ve seen anything about lab-grown chocolate lately, you’ll know the industry is going through a bit of a moment. Between cocoa shortages and companies experimenting with lab-grown alternatives, it’s easy to feel like even your treats are complicated. But brands like Ombar are doing something a bit more grounded: real cacao, fair trade, keeping it simple.
Sometimes the less dramatic option is actually the better one.
The point is this: treating yourself doesn’t need a disclaimer. You don’t owe anyone guilt over a chocolate bar, especially one that’s actually good for you. Find the thing that feels like a treat and sits well with you, and just enjoy it.
Ombar is available in most health food shops and online. The Coconut & Vanilla is the one to start with, trust me.
